Young Adult Ladies' Fall Discipleship GroupHalf-Hearted Discipleship? - Getting to the Heart
of Our Idols
Wednesday Evenings at 6:30 p.m.
Study Center Room 211B
Leader: Ashley Hall
As young adult ladies, we work and live among a great variety of gods competing for our worship—not necessarily those of other formal religions, but the "gods" of success, wealth, pleasure, knowledge, and achievement. The question we have to continually ask is, "how can we be sure to follow God rather than the idols of the culture around us?" And more importantly, do we recognize our own gravitations toward idolatry and do we know what to do when we fail or fall? If you have ever had the feeling that "half-hearted" discipleship is an accurate description of your walk with Christ, then consider joining us this fall as we study the effects of idolatry on our own lives by examining very similar footsteps in the Old Testament, leaning primarily on Judges, Daniel, and Joseph. You will be provided a notebook/study guide (written by Tim Keller) to aid you in your homework and Bible study – cost is $5. If you would like to join, please email Ashley Hall at ashleyh@fpcjackson.org
